Decorative Painting Month

DESCRIPTION:
    Decorative Painting Month is October. A minimum of six months prior to that month, community libraries, art galleries, etc. should be contacted to arrange for display of an assortment of decorative painting items for public viewing during October. Members should be encouraged to contribute items for display. A minimum of two members should plan to set up the display in the library/gallery in their home community. Some paperwork may be necessary, but there is generally no cost involved. The displays should be set up promptly on a prearranged date and removed promptly. A member who lives in the community where the library is located has arranged the displays exhibited the last two years. This seems to work well. Specific display require requirements would be available from the library/gallery.

OUTPUTS FROM POSITION:

COMMITMENT:
  • Coordinate Painting Month activities and displays at local libraries, galleries, etc.
  • Attend chapter meetings - 3 hours per month
  • Prepare newsletter articles - 2 hours per month/or bimonthly

RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Work with the board to develop chapter goals for the year
  • Interact with the membership to encourage fair participation
  • Display a love and appreciation of decorative art
  • Work with other board members at meetings and chapter activities
